Kagan Cooperative Learning Strategies are designed to promote cooperation and Communication among students. It boosts students confidence and makes Classroom interactive. It generates and maintains students interest in the subject with the interactive learning because Students work in teams and are not just passive listeners.
1) THINK PAIR SHARE
Think-pair-share is a collaborative learning strategy where students work together to solve a problem or answer a question about an assigned reading. This strategy requires students to
(1) think individually about a topic or answer to a question; and
(2) Pair with a classmates
(3) share ideas with classmates.
Discussing with a partner maximizes participation, focuses attention and engages students in comprehending the reading material.
2) THREE STEP INTERVIEW
The three-step interview learning strategy incorporates a blend of role-playing and discussion to facilitate student learning. The cooperative learning technique facilitates the development of skills such as active listening, note-taking and sharing information. The strategy comprises of Q&A sessions and interviews, enhancing student interest and engagement, and in turn making learning more fun and enjoyable in the classroom.
BRAIN BASED ACTIVITIES
Brain-based education focuses on how the brain learns naturally and refers to teaching methods, instructional design, and programs that are based on what scientific researchers currently know about how the brain learns best. Teaching techniques that are brain friendly create environments that immerse students in experiences, are non-threatening yet challenging, and give students the opportunity to process information actively.
